Company is first Orlando firm to ink deal to market Oculan’s innovative technology.
Provides an affordable, proactive network management solution to growing businesses.
i-Tech’s “virtual MIS department” uses 2002’s leading new technology to solve IT growing pains for SMBs.
Raleigh, NC (December 4th, 2002) – i-Tech (www.i-tech.cc), a leader of the Orlando Business Journal’s Fast Track 25 list of the fastest-growing technology companies in the Orlando area, announced today it has signed a partnership agreement with Oculan Corporation (www.oculan.com), developer of the leading new award-winning technology for managing IT networks. The Oculan technology allows companies of all sizes to manage and secure their networks for a fraction of the cost, time and complexity of traditional software solutions.
“Oculan’s technology is a slam dunk solution to meeting our clients’ needs.”, states Brian Avery, i-Tech’s President and CEO. “It hits home on our key focus – business value. Most network management tools are both expensive and complex. This robust tool is simple to use, powerful and affordable.”
Leveraging its partnership with Oculan, Orlando-area businesses can now use i-Tech as a “virtual MIS department” for a range of IT support services – both full-scale IT support/staffing and IT staff augmentation – for a fraction of the cost it would require by hiring internal staff. Using the Oculan technology, i-Tech can remotely manage the entire network infrastructure of small to mid-sized businesses (SMBs), dramatically improving network security, uptime, and performance while reducing costs for IT maintenance and repair. i-Tech is specifically targeting businesses with multiple branch locations that are struggling to manage their IT assets at those remote locations.
Oculan’s award-winning technology solution has taken the IT channel by storm as the company has established 165 partnerships with companies in 30 states and 16 foreign countries in just over one year of operations. In August, Business Solutions magazine profiled the rapid success of an Oculan partner in a cover story entitled, “The Guardian of the Network” (http://www.businesssolutionsmag.com/Articles/2002_08/020801.htm ) and Computer Reseller News (CRN) magazine profiled several other Oculan partners in a feature story entitled “Partners Drive Oculan’s Service Sales” ( http://crn.channelsupersearch.com/news/CRN/36804.asp ). Oculan has won numerous national technology awards and rave reviews from channel executives in its first year of operation. At four leading technology events Oculan was nominated for 21 of the 25 “best of show” awards, winning over half of those awards including Best New Networking Technology, Best New Company, Best Channel Strategy, and many others. The key differentiator between Oculan and other available software solutions in the industry is cost and simplicity. With Oculan’s monthly subscription service, i-Tech and its customers don’t have to worry about the time and cost of deploying software, maintaining the platform, installing upgrades and new releases, doing backups, training staff to operate the platform, and other related expenses. Instead, all of these costs are automatically included in the Oculan monthly subscription service with no up-front hardware or software purchase required--plus, Oculan itself remotely maintains and administers the platform. As a result, the total cost of ownership (TCO) to a customer of deploying the Oculan solution is a fraction of the TCO associated with traditional software solutions.
i-Tech customers receive ongoing reports from Oculan on current and projected network problems so that corrective action can be taken before they harm a company’s bottom line. Customers also receive access to the Oculan’s simple user interface, which allows real-time monitoring of the entire network plus automatic email and pager notifications of network problems. The Oculan technology ultimately enables any company or its IT service provider to vastly improve network performance and minimize costly downtime at a far lower cost than was previously available. “i-Tech is an ideal Oculan Partner because of their recognized expertise, experience, and the customer base they have developed in the Orlando metropolitan area,” said Darrek Porter, Vice President of Corporate Communications for Oculan. “We try to target the best regional IT service providers in each state for partnerships, and we are thrilled to ink this deal with i-Tech.” Until now, traditional network management platforms have been built for Fortune 500-type networks, virtually out of the financial and technical reach of the average business. But over the past several years, nearly all sizes of organizations have come to view security and network uptime as mission-critical. Customers who enroll with i-Tech for the Oculan service meet that mission-critical need by paying a monthly subscription fee and in return getting comprehensive network management services tailored to their needs by i-Tech engineers. The monthly subscription service enables customers to thwart hackers and monitor all aspects of a network through one simple user interface on a computer monitor. Through that interface, the user can generate easy-to-read, actionable reports on the health, security, and performance of all network devices and desktops, and be alerted via page or email to any network problem.
