Ven-Tel Plastics Corporation received “Outstanding Special Use Building” award at the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties Tampa Bay Chapter’s Best of the Best Awards dinner held 12-5-02 at A la Carte in Tampa.

Ven-Tel Plastics is one of the Southeast United States and Florida’s largest and most diversified plastic injection molders. Ven-Tel specializes in precision injection molding of thermoplastic and thermoset products to service the needs of clients in the medical, electrical, automatic, lawn and garden, marine and aerospace industries.

This structure was designed with low maintenance, low maintenance cost & permanence in mind. The air conditioning duct in the molding rooms are constructed of galvanized sheet metal in lieu of fiberglass duct board. An inserted frame allows hepa-filters to be added. This was done to easily convert these rooms into “clean rooms” at a later date. The building has 16-inch pipes under the structure floor to accommodate outside cooling water, compressed air lines and a series of lines from the vacuum pumps to the buildings molding rooms. At the back of the building there are two covered patio area that are used to contain the air compressors, cooling water system and the vacuum pumps. This allows all noisy and messy equipment to bin an area outside of the building, keeping the building clean and at a lower ambient noise level.

An EFSR sprinkler system was also installed to protect the property inside the structure. The building is powered by 5,000 amps of 480-volt power, which is brought into the facility underground. Expansion can be accomplished entirely without disruption on-pong operations. The construction time for this project was 6 months.
