CYBERGUARD ROLLS OUT NEW LOOK FOR SECURITY APPLIANCES ALONG WITH NEW GLOBAL BRANDING CAMPAIGN – Firewall/VPN Appliances Will Sport Sleek New Front Faces; Web Site To Get New Look and Navigation; Product Literature Reflects New Image – Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. (February 24, 2003) – CyberGuard Corporation (AMEX: CFW), the technology leader in network security, announced today that it is introducing a new global branding campaign in conjunction with a sleek new profile for its newest line of premium firewall/VPN appliances. The new image is designed to draw attention to the new appliances at the same time it positions the company to introduce new products and technologies following the pending acquisition of industry-leading SSL and IPSec acceleration technology. In November, the company began shipping a line of high velocity security appliances with new and enhanced features and more than double the speed of earlier appliance models. At that time, the company also expanded its product line to offer two models of its FS appliance – FS250 and FS500 – designed for low to moderate bandwidth needs; two models of its popular KS appliance – KS1000 and KS1500 – for large enterprises; and the SL2000, a powerhouse model for extremely high-volume, demanding environments. A key piece of the campaign will be a polished new front face for each of the appliances. Specific campaign elements include · New look – A new design eliminates the company’s traditional fire imagery replacing it with purple, blue and red. The red CyberGuard shield will remain as a unifying graphical element. · New Web site – The new look is reflected throughout the design of the site, available live today at www.cyberguard.com. The redesign adds intuitive navigation to enhance usability. The site also contains new information; news about expanded global training opportunities for sales and network security professionals; and new flash animation and other multimedia content. CyberGuard will also begin introducing new landing zones for French, German, Spanish, Swedish, Japanese, Korean and Chinese partners and customers. · New bezel fronts – In March, the FS, KS, and SL models will begin shipping with shiny, metallic bezels designed to convey the new branding. Images are available on the Web site. · New product literature – All printed material will emphasize a clean, crisp design that reinforces the new CyberGuard color palette and branding found on the website. A new CyberGuard Update e-letter featuring the new design is being distributed today. It is available at www.cyberguard.com/enewsletter.
Pat Clawson, president of CyberGuard Corporation, stated, “CyberGuard is well-known for placing security first. Customers also know our appliances offer speed and ease of use. But we haven’t always done a good job of communicating those product benefits. The new look is sophisticated and conveys value and functionality at a glance – whether you see or read about the products or visit the Web site. We are excited about the new branding and the expanded CyberGuard capabilities and market opportunities this represents.” The campaign is being rolled out in stages to accommodate CyberGuard partners and solution providers around the world.
