Tampa Bay CEO Names Magnetic CEO a Finalist for CEO of the Year

TAMPA, Fla. – (Dec. 3, 2007) – Magnetic CEO Ken Bakunas has been named a finalist in the Tampa Bay CEO 2007 CEO of the Year Awards, which honor the top executives in the Tampa Bay Region. He is one of three finalists in the technology category.

“Knowing the caliber of leadership within the Tampa Bay business community, it is an honor for me to be considered among the top three technology CEOs in the region,” said Bakunas, who founded the full-service Web development firm in 1997. “However, this achievement is not mine alone. I share it with the entire Magnetic team, whose dedication to excellence and innovation is the driving force behind our success.”

CEO of the Year finalists were selected based on the strength of their corporate vision, leadership and community involvement. Winners will be named in each of eight categories: technology; advertising and marketing; customer service; business to business; financial services; community action; real estate; and under age 30.

Top CEOs in each category, as well as an overall winner, will be announced on Dec. 11.

The CEO of the Year honor is just the latest in a string of awards for Bakunas and his Magnetic team. In October, the firm was named the 2007 Small Business of the Year in the 21-50 employee category by the Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce. Also in October, the firm was named a finalist in the professional services category for the Tampa Bay Business Journal’s 2007 Business of the Year Awards, winners of which will be announced on Dec. 6.

Earlier this year, Magnetic was named one of the Tampa Bay Business Journal’s “Best Places to Work,” receiving the highest score of all categories for the second year in a row. It also earned its second Shopping Standard of Excellence WebAward from the Web Marketing Association.
