Tampa Bay Business Journal Recognizes Magnetic among Region’s “Best Places to Work”

TAMPA, Fla. – (April 23, 2009) – For the fourth consecutive year, Magnetic, a full-service Web development firm, has been recognized by the Tampa Bay Business Journal as one of the Tampa Bay region’s “Best Places to Work.”

Magnetic was one of just 14 companies awarded the “Best Places to Work” designation in the “Big” category for organizations with 25-50 employees. In all, 60 companies were recognized in four categories: Nearly Big (less than 25 employees); Big; Bigger (51-100 employees); and Biggest (101+ employees).

Among the many reasons for its distinction as one of the region’s “Best Places to Work” is Magnetic’s dedication to fostering an open environment in which employees are encouraged to share their ideas and concerns, including providing a suggestion box for convenience. Nominations for “Best Places to Work” were accepted through the Tampa Bay Business Journal Web site. Finalists were qualified based on anonymous employee surveys administered by Quantum Market research, and subject to a rigorous statistical process to determine the rankings.

Based on the measurement of 40 attributes known to drive employee engagement, employee statements were given a value of one to six points. The statements were broken down into 10 categories: team effectiveness, retention risk, alignment with goals, trust with co-workers, individual contribution, manager effectiveness, trust in senior leaders, feeling valued, work engagement and people practices.

This year’s final rankings were announced during a celebration luncheon on April 23, 2009.
